Death & Injury Claims
An injury or death claim mediation may involve a representative from the insurance company and/or the defendant and oftentimes lawyers. This can create an intimidating situation for the parties so having me there as an unbiased third party mediating discussion ensures everyone’s interests are fairly addressed and each party is fully satisfied with the outcome.
Both sides present their case and may discuss facts surrounding the incident. If I feel it’s necessary, I may choose to separate the parties into different rooms to provide private meetings and I act as an intermediary between the parties. The intent is to give fair and unbiased guidance to each party without necessarily forfeiting information that might be used against them should attempts to negotiate an agreeable settlement fail and the case goes to trial. In addition, this give each party privacy and time to adequately consider any proposed offers or terms of settlement without feeling like they are under pressure to decide quickly.
